A regularly scheduled meeting of the West Fargo School Board, West Fargo Public School District #6, was held on February 9, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the District Support Center Boardroom, with President Patti Stedman presiding. Members present included Vice President Jessica Jackson and Directors Jim Jonas, Jon Erickson, Dan Schaeffer, Trisha Page, and Jessica Jones. Also present, representing the school district, were Superintendent Beth Slette, Interim Business Manager Elizabeth Mackowick, Human Resources Director Brittnee Nikle, Director of Technology Ed Mitchell, and Director of School Safety and Security Heather Leas. School Board Secretary Alicia Severson, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction Rachael Agre, and Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction Vincent Williams were absent.

Ms. Page moved, seconded by Mr. Erickson, to adopt the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously. There were no additions to the agenda.

The Board received a presentation from Curriculum Coordinator Nicole Seyfried regarding middle school math interventions.

There was no public participation.

Mr. Jonas moved, seconded by Ms. Jackson, to find the district making reasonable progress with noted exceptions toward achieving Desired Results under DR 2.2 Math, with noted exceptions on Indicator 5 and Indicator 6, as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

There were no board committee reports.

Mr. Jonas moved, seconded by Dr. Jones, to award the bids for the South Elementary School construction project as presented, establishing a Guaranteed Maximum Price of $16,799,865.25 for construction of the addition and renovations to South Elementary School; authorizing the administration to execute a GMP Amendment to the contract with Gehrtz Construction Services for that amount; and authorizing the administration to adjust the South Elementary School project budget for the 2025 bond financials to align with the memo. The motion carried unanimously.

Ms. Jackson moved, seconded by Ms. Page, to remove the Business Manager from the administrative salary schedule and establish an independent negotiated contract consistent with North Dakota Century Code and current Board governance practices, as presented in Attachment 7B. The motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Schaeffer moved, seconded by Ms. Page, to approve the consent agenda. The consent agenda included approval of the regular meeting minutes from January 26, 2026; Human Resources actions including eight resignations and one new contract; contracts for professional services with Myna, LC Ventures, LLC, and Legend Technical ; approval of new indicators for DR 2 monitoring reports; approval of the Waiver of High School Unit Instructional Time; authorization for administration to solicit bids for audit services; and approval of the bills as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

During the superintendent’s report, Superintendent Slette provided updates and relevant information to the Board.

During the president’s prerogative, President Stedman facilitated closing reflections and comments.

The regular business meeting adjourned at 7:02 PM .
